tell me its needed (2020)
there's at least 4 versions of this song somewhere on an old laptop. whenever i listen to this version i hear its ghost's lyrics:
last time i saw u/ i felt so safe and sound/ once it hurts/ and twice/ oh twice it feels worse/ i'll tell you that i've changed/ i swear to you ive changed/ right before your face.
maybe the last song i made in this style, end of musical era marker <3
u stay w me (2025)
music made on ableton lite in 2023. the file was actually saved as "u stay w me" so when i was exploring my computer and found it in 2025, I wrote/recorded lyrics to match. simply put, its about silly outside opinions ruminating in my mind and not giving them the credit for decisions i made.
i especially love this one.
so tell me (2025)
pinkpantheress sample (maybe a sample of a sample? the opening of ophelia). made this in an hour, freestyled w no after edits (maybe reverb). The week I recorded this, I was listening to "I get along without you very well" on repeat (chet baker & nina simmone versions). Definitely cried before, during and after.
crysta (2025)
Fleetwood Mac fans stand up!! (crystal was definately my morning alarm in middle school took me years to listen to it objectively lol). Made on ableton lite, helped me enjoy producing again.
didn't she (2024)
lyrics originally went: didnt eve eat the apple, didnt she plant the seed hence the title. And I didn't care for it much.
A few months later, I was faced with a scenario whores and gigworkers alike can relate to. I had a client that I cut off because he wanted something that I refused to provide. Four months after cutting him off he texts me, tempting me with money to make my boundaries disappear. And it was tempting.
But then, I watched the French reality show, "Don't Hate the Player." One of the contestants chose to eliminate themselves. And when the host asked that contestant if they felt like they are now missing out on the opportunity of winning the prize money, the constant responded with: there is no such thing as missed opportunities, "c'est que des choix et paroles" (only choices and promises) and so ofc i ran to ableton and found a file that had good music and not good lyrics and rerecorded new vocals to didn't she.
something 2 do (2024)
the age old tale of forcing imaginary love and care onto a person to distract me from my everlasting tasks at hand. funny bc whenever this happens my crush can like sniff it outta me, like they know idc about them!! and honesty, good for them.
this track samples a song i made in 2019 called "just like you." it was the last song i made before taking a four month hiatus of creating sounds (the longest i'd gone without since i started in 2014). i subconciously made something 2 do as a stripped down ode to my early tracks: saw/sine synth + glitched audio + droney vocal
